Musculoskeletal Assessments

A musculoskeletal assessment, also known as biomechanical assessment, is usually undertaken to look at the the way that we walk and function. This could indicate if there are specific muscle weaknesses or pathology underlying that can benefit from treatments such as exercise therapy, prefabricated /custom orthotics or an additional referral onwards.

Some of the foot and ankle conditions that a musculoskeletal assessment may be helpful for are:

  • Bunions

  • Plantar fasciitis

  • Mortons neuroma

  • Hallux limitus

  • Big toe pain

  • Achilles tendinopathy

  • Arch pain

  • Ankle pain

  • Sinus tarsi syndrome

  • Baxters nerve entrapment

  • Peroneal tendinopathy

  • Forefoot pain

  • Ankle sprains
